Hello, again.

I would like to thank you for making those suggestions. I was not expecting that kind of response, but that was some useful information that you gave that I will definitely consider. When I first started working on this blog, I thought it would take some time, patience, and commitment (among other things) for it to be considered successful. And as I mentioned, I will keep working with it, and we'll see what happens in the future.

Thanks again,

J.K.

Whoops - bad grammar. "blogs that write about" should be "blogs focused on", or something that doesn't suggest that blogs write themselves!

Hi there,
I would say that you simply have to be patient. Most bloggers I know that have a faithful readership have just plugged away at it, and not worried too much about attracting loads of hits or comments or trackbacks. Since there are so many blogs out there, it takes time for people to figure out that what you are writing about is good and that your blog is not just going to be one of the many that don't last very long.

Also, I'd say that you shouldn't judge the success of your blog by comments received. I know a few bloggers that don't get many comments but have many, many readers. I've noticed that blogs that get lots of comments are usually blogs that write about contentious subjects - and I don't think your blog is going to be particularly contentious, Jake :)

Couple other tips:

Make it easy for people to get your RSS feed. Put a big button somewhere.

And register on Technorati - www.technorati.com - and put a button on your site "add me to your Technorati favourites".

...it's worth saying again: be patient! Building a readership takes a long time.

Keep on blogging!
